PUBLISH YOUR NOVEL ON THE FIRST TRY
by Mark Barnes
Category: Motivation - http://www.wordpreneur.com/motivation
Rejection. This scary word plagues virtually every writer
this side of John Grisham. It stops many writers in their
tracks and often leads them to a new line of work. If your
one of the millions of Americans who have a passion for
writing and dream of seeing your novel on the shelves of
Barnes & Noble and Borders Books, don't let fear of
rejection scare you off. Follow this simple formula, and
you can publish your novel on the very first try.
The secret to getting published is both simple and complex.
The simple part is two-pronged. First, you need a modicum
of writing skill. Now, you don’t have to be William
Shakespeare, but you do need to know how to put sentences
together, while tossing in a few nifty adjectives on
occasion.

HOW TO MEASURE THE VALUE OF YOUR ARTICLE MARKETING
CAMPAIGN
by Garrett French
Category: Promotion - http://www.wordpreneur.com/promotion
It's not enough to scatter your articles across the
Internet - you've got to measure what you're doing so you
can be sure that you're getting value from your effort.
Here are some of my preliminary thoughts on what's
measurable in regards to article marketing (and what you
measure should depend on your predefined article marketing
goals, but you knew that already):
Number of new of links to your site
This is a big one of course, and just about the easiest to
measure with a simple "link:" search in the major engines.

MONEY TRAILS FOR WRITERS
by Marg McAlister
Category: The Job - http://www.wordpreneur.com/thejob
I'm willing to bet that quite a number of you once had to
debate (or discuss) the saying: "The pen is mightier than
the sword." If you were arguing 'for', you would have been
able to come up with many examples of how words triumphed
over muscles.
The fact is, words can triumph over just about anything.
Even if you acknowledge the occasional truth of another
saying, "A picture paints a thousand words", any picture
has its limitations. If the viewer is not certain what the
picture is about, it takes words to explain. It also takes
words to theorize about what led up to the picture, what
happened after the picture was taken, drawn or painted, and
the many reactions that the picture might prompt.
Visualize a website you've visited recently. Imagine it
without pictures. Could you still find out what you wanted
to know - or order the product you were after? The likely
answer is 'yes'. Now imagine it without words. What's the
situation this time? You'd be floundering.
What has this got to do with your writing career?
Everything.
