5 WAYS TO ENHANCE YOUR CREATIVITY
by Shery Ma Belle Arrieta-Russ
Category: Ideas http://www.wordpreneur.com/ideas

We're born creative. However, this innate characteristic
becomes buried as we get older. Our logical left brain
usually takes the driver's seat. Here are 5 ways to help
you unearth your creative self.

1. Surprise Your Mind. List laughable, ridiculous,
outrageous and bizarre ideas. Don't limit yourself to ideas
that other people consider "sane," "reasonable" or
"logical." The best and most creative ideas stem from silly
ones. When you're in a creative mode, you're suspending
judgment on ideas you generate. You simply list them all
down and never worry whether they make sense or not. Allow
yourself the freedom to think outside the box.

THE BOTTOMLESS NOTEBOOK
by Shery Ma Belle Arrieta-Russ
Category: Ideas http://www.wordpreneur.com/ideas

Reading through a writer's notebook or journal is like
discovering pearls, rubies and diamonds amidst a pile of
rubble.

That little notebook is a powerhouse of ideas for every
writer: The more you write down bits and pieces of your
thoughts and observations, the more you are adding into the
well of ideas for future works.

Here are a few things you can record in your notebook or
journal, so that in case you run out of ideas to write
about, you can refer to it:

Your Shoeboxed Life: Write what you know, feel and
experience. Jot down snippets of events in your life. Write
a sentence or a paragraph about a funny, embarrassing,
happy or infuriating experience.

PUBLICITY THROUGH PHILANTHROPY FOR WRITERS
by Zachary Weiner
Category: promotion http://www.wordpreneur.com/promotion

I am 23 years old, have sold over 4,000 copies of my first
book in a matter of a month after its release and recently
been contacted for contracts with Random House and Harper
Collins for two new titles. I think a good deal of my
recent success is highly correlated with my Reading for
Charity Contest and the attention it has drawn. I'll
explain the entire background, but as pre-thought I think
it first manifested itself through a combination of my
looking for a good way to market my first book, while
balancing out my karma a bit. A way to interweave my love
of novel writing, increase my book's visibility and provide
a benefit to society in some way shape or form. All of
these tasks have seemed to be accomplished - although my
karma could still probably use some more balancing.

What is the Reading for Charity Contest?: Over 60
organizations, a group of corporate sponsors, and a handful
of volunteers are the result of the charity contest. I took
my very recently published book and decided to give away a
certain percentage of its profits to charity. There was a
catch though, the charity I will give my book profits to is
being voted on, by the readers. So once you read my book,
you can go to my webpage or find me at one of my book tours
and vote for your favorite cause and the highest voted
cause receives the profits (which should be quite a bit).
That was the Reading for Charity Contest's basic beginning.
It's the focal point of everything else that now surrounds
the contest and of course my book. The contest was than
expanded on by a few different means which furthered the
accomplishment of my goals
