SNOB-BLOGGERS: YOU JUST MIGHT BE A SNOB
IF YOU PUBLISH A BLOG
by Jim F. Kukral
Category: General
According to Jupiter Research, about 2 percent of the
online community has created a blog. That works out to
millions and millions of blogs, and in turn, millions and
millions of snobs who publish them. That’s an awful lot of
Snob-Bloggers!
You see, in order to care enough to publish a blog, you
really need to be somewhat of a snob. Before we get into
the reasons why, let’s look at the definition of snob.

GETTING AN IDEA FOR A BOOK
by Nick Daws
Category: Ideas
So you want to write a book, but can’t think of an idea? No
problem! Here are just a few suggestions to set you on the
road to your first bestseller!
Start by thinking about your job (and if you’re a student,
a caregiver, a homemaker, a full-time parent or an unpaid
volunteer worker, that counts as well). Think about whether
there are there aspects of this which would be of interest
to ordinary people, or people who do similar jobs to you
(or would like to).
Remember, you don’t have to be an ‘expert’ now - you can
always research what you don’t know later. But clearly it
helps if you already know something about your subject. And
by the very fact of doing a certain job, you already know
more than the great majority of the population about this
subject.

COMMON WRITING MISTAKES
by Michael LaRocca
Category: Technique
Most books aren't rejected because the stories are "bad."
They're rejected because they're not "ready to read." In
short, minor stuff like typos, grammar, spelling, etc.
I don't mean places where we, as authors, deliberately
break the rules. Those are fine. That's part of our job.
Language always changes with use, and we can help it on its
way. No, I'm referring to places where someone just plain
didn't learn the rule or got confused or overlooked it
during the self-edits.
I've been editing novels for over three years. Looking back
at my experiences, I feel like sharing the most common
mistakes I've seen. If you'll go through your manuscript
and fix these before you submit it to a publisher, your
odds of publication will increase dramatically
