Market Idea: Blogging Services for Affiliate Merchants
Lots being said and written about creating blogs to generate affiliate income. But from what I’ve seen it’s actually a somewhat rare experience to come across aff merchants (not affiliates) who use the tech and medium, let alone use them to their advantage.
We’re not talking about blogs that sell the merchant to the end consumer — let the affiliates sweat that. Internal communications is where the action may be I think.

Specifically, the merchant blog I’m thinking about is one to be read by its affiliates. Covering everything from product line to promo and marketing to motivation rah rah rah. And it has to be very regularly updated (many of the few merchants who actually do a blog, post so infrequently they may as well not bother).
Where you come in: Write the darn thing for them. Even better: Turnkey. Set it all up from scratch and run the whole affiliate blogging operation. Give them the tech (which is dirt easy and cheap) and content.
Have at it.
NOTE: A lot of merchants hire affiliate managers (in-house or externals). You’ll probably have better luck pitching the in-house managers. For the external services, maybe hit them up for the possibility of doing subcontract work. Best prospects, I would guess, are merchants who do not have an affiliate manager.
