The 25 Most Valuable Blogs

Written on March 27, 2008 – 5:46 pm | by Wordpreneur |

Business IconCheck out this report by 24/7 Wall St. (a financial news and information blog for investors). They put an actual dollar $$$ figure to what a blog is worth, which is tough considering that these babies are all privately-held.

But they calc’d it up, and here’s 24/7’s list.

24/7 didn’t include some large blogs you may be familiar that are under the umbrella of a large media company. Nor did they include some biggies that “bring in very little commercial revenue.”

This isn’t just a simple bulleted list — 24/7 provides some good analysis and info about each blog, including revenue and visitor counts and more. The revenue figures are likely guesses (these are private ops, remember), and heck if I know whether 24/7’s guesses are on the money or not, but what’s a few million here or there?

Yes, millions. That’s the ballpark for most on the list. And no, Wordpreneur isn’t on it. A must-read.

What else are they going to use for these private boys? :-) For lack of anything better or more accurate, Alexa is all we’ve got.

Reminds me to check on Alexa again. I haven’t been able to use it automatically ever since I went Vista.
