Google Webmaster Guidelines and a Freelance Article Idea for You

Written on March 6, 2008 – 10:14 am | by Wordpreneur |

GoogleLots of information being bandied about on how to improve your site’s or blog’s rankings on the search engines… on Google in particular. People write tips about it and discuss the subject at length on forums; heck, there’s no shortage of commercial products and services built around that specific topic.

Interesting. Even more interesting is that one of the clearest and most helpful “guides” on the subject is free, direct from the horse’s mouth! And not even all that long, in case you’re wondering.

So, before you start throwing money at others who claim to be able to get you results, you may want to first try doing it yourself, following the simple tips in this really easy to read and follow guide from Google itself:

Back already? I told you it was easy to read and follow.

Now here’s the idea: Simply rewrite and repackage this information. Into an article, guide, ebook, yada yada yada… For whatever reason, people find this subject technically intimidating and assume that the techniques are — whoosh — over their heads without a bunch of handholding.

But as you can see it really isn’t.

But they don’t need to know that (they won’t believe you anyway). So “guru” yourself and “simplify” it for them. You can probably make a career of writing this kind of article freelance for niche market magazines.

Have fun!

Like this post? Maybe you'd like to buy me a cuppa joe! It'll help keep me awake to write more, of course. Thanks!
