4 Tips for “Business” Holiday Cards

Written on December 4, 2007 – 6:50 pm | by Wordpreneur |

If you’re going to go through the trouble of sending “business” holiday greeting cards for schmoozing value, here are four tips you’ll want to be aware of:

Don’t be cheap. Try not to go overboard, but go for quality and skip the cheap, flimsy budget cards. Dollar store cards do not communicate the right business message; there’s nothing worse than doing this (well, for freelancers, there is… see the last tip).

Handwrite the recipient’s name and address on the envelope. You want to print out mailing labels? You’re kidding, right?

Since you already have the pen out, handwrite a small meaningful personalized “note” in the card too. Don’t just sign it. And don’t just write in some token, totally transparent and empty ”Happy Holidays and have a great 2008!” If you’re going to schmooze, please do it right.

DO IT NOW. Like, by this weekend at the latest. Can you imagine the business message you’re communicating if your cards get there late?

Happy Holidays and have a great 2008!

Like this post? Maybe you'd like to buy me a cuppa joe! It'll help keep me awake to write more, of course. Thanks!
