Expanding a bit on the ideas presented in the two Opportunities With Software Manuals articles… the very same type of infoproducts can be developed and sold for websites. After all, a lot of sites out there are in essence software applications, aren’t they? And/or they provide services complex, involved or even promising enough for users to want more information about them.

eBay for Dummies ring any bells?

Although writing and publishing an eBay tome is far from a quick and/or low-cost project, maybe you can focus on a niche aspect of it, like what I did with GolfIncome: eBay.

How about something on some aspect of craigslist? Skype? Blogger? WordPress? LinkedIn? Facebook? Or one of the thousands of other sites with sizeable user bases that represent your infoproduct’s target market. This set of infoproduct opportunities, for all intents and purposes, is endless. Just put on your thinking cap; getting started shouldn’t even be that difficult — begin with the sites/services you actually use, and move on from there.

OK, since I still have my cap on, let me share (no charge!) something that just popped in there: Write and publish infoproducts around one or more of the dating sites out there. Take one of the very popular ones, like:

• eHarmony
• LavaLife
• Matchmaker

Then write a very easy step-by-step guide for beginners, filled with tips and links to resources, ideas and suggestions on how to use the service to meet other people, how to protect one’s self, etc. etc. etc. I don’t think I’ve seen one of these out there (to be fair, I really wasn’t looking, but you get the idea).

Take a Moment to Consider: Unlike manuals and support material for software, it may be a bit more difficult getting the cooperation and assistance of the website/service, particularly in the area of promoting sales to its existing users and site visitors.
