Minority Magazine Seeks Freelance Journalists

Written on November 20, 2007 – 7:20 pm | by Wordpreneur |

Prudence International Magazine, a high-end business and lifestyle magazine for immigrant and minority communities in the US, is looking for freelance journalists.

The magazine is a quarterly, glossy, 5-color publication with news stories and other information about African leaders and their programs, American businesses operating and/or seeking to do business in Africa, and U.S. political and business leaders interested in trade and investment in Africa.

The magazine’s seeking writers for the following sections: Education, Business/Investment, Career/Employment, Faith & Spirit, Health & Wellness, Love & Romance, Culture & Heritage, Entertainment, and Law.

Freelance journalists will work closely with the Managing Editor (Abi Fluker) in planning stories, source development, and writing. However, after stories are assigned, the freelance journalist pretty much dictates his or her own way to approach the story.

Freelance journalists are paid based on word count and the complexity of the story. In general, articles that range between 500-1000 words are paid $50 per article. Articles ranging from, say, 3000-4000 words are paid $250. These prices are negotiable.

Interested? Email Abi Fluker <afluker@prudenceinternational.com> with your resume and three (3) writing samples in MS Word format as attachments. In a letter, explain how and why you would be a good fit for the magazine. Deadline: November 30.

Like this post? Maybe you'd like to buy me a cuppa joe! It'll help keep me awake to write more, of course. Thanks!

The Distinguished Managing Editor (Abi Fluker) is from which country. Please treat this as urgent for which I will be thankful.
