Free WordPress Online Video Course

Just got wind of the following useful resource: a free 10-part online video series on WordPress, covering everything from setup to slightly more advanced topics like using themes and plugins.

Nifty (pretty good, actually), particularly for those of you who want step-by-step visuals and narratives to get you going. And you can’t beat the cost. The course is produced and provided by the 10 Minute Expert site.

Note that the videos revolve around installing and using WordPress on Web hosting provider HostGator (who I haven’t had any direct experience with, but is being used by some of my friends for their websites). But most of the instruction should be universally applicable and useful, regardless where you have WordPress installed and running.

The information in the first two I didn’t have to deal with on my Site5 hosting, with its Fantastico interface handling all the complexities, but since I actually have experienced doing this installation elsewhere, don’t worry. It isn’t overly difficult and the video covers the process more than adequately.

So, if you’re WordPress-interested (or curious, at least), but are intimidated by the technicalities, check out the videos. You’ll see why I have no doubt that the software is something that you can handle.
