Compile Your Back Posts Into an Infoproduct
Since I know (or have a feeling) that we are all aware of this infoproduct idea, consider this a “reminder.” I like to remind myself periodically of possibilities as, over time, I inevitably get distracted by many other things, and a reminder can’t possibly hurt. I figure you may like to get reminded as well.
The simple idea: Get your blog back posts and compile them into an infoproduct (ebook).
Not earth shattering as far as ideas go, but very, very solid. And the best part for bloggers who’ve been at it a while (or you particularly prolific ones): Your product is already practically finished! LIttle to no more writing involved; you just need to put the thing together.
Following are just some of my “thinking out loud” notes on the subject:
- Use software like what’s provide with the $7 Secrets infoproduct to make the process of setting up a system to sell your ebook online easy. It’ll also help you promote it, with its built-in affiliate marketing functinality.

- You may want to take the time to sort, categorize, index, organize, etc., your old posts instead of merely dumping and lumping together and putting up a for sale sign, so to speak (something I see done quite frequently… talk about lazy and not caring much about the reader/customer).

- Delete the old posts from your blog after they’ve been ebook’d. Or — and this is something I would probably do, even if it is more time consuming — keep the post entry/record intact; keep the first sentence or paragraph (depending on how long the post is) and delete the rest; in place of the deleted text, add a pitch and link to your archived infoproduct.

- I’d do this in an Adobe Acrobat PDF file format. I wouldn’t even look at or consider anything else. I bit the bullet long ago and bought the full Adobe Acrobat product, but there are alternative PDF creators, even free ones. (Just making a mental note to find and recommend some of these for future posts.)

- Price it low enough to make it both a no-brainer purchase and a “Man, it’s so cheap, I’ll just buy my own copy instead of stealing it” offering.

- But accept that it’ll likely be stolen and distributed illegally. Some bozos just can’t help themselves, for whatever reason. So capitalize on its potential illicit distribution and pepper the ebook with pitches and links back to your site(s), affiliate program(s) and other infoproduct(s), if any.

- Instead of (or on top of) selling the ebook, give it away as an incentive for folks to subscribe to your email or RSS feed, as a bonus for another infoproduct, etc.
Like this post? Maybe you'd like to buy me a cuppa joe! It'll help keep me awake to write more, of course. Thanks!
