Blog “Income” From Donations can be Substantial
I left donations out from The Editor’s Guide to Blogging Profit – Monetizing It until I could come up with some real world examples and/or tried and implemented it myself. Thankfully, fellow wordpreneur “Kathleen” has just provided us with that information in a comment.
And her numbers aren’t small.
Her comment is a must-read (scroll down to the post’s comments area). This has also prompted me to try this out immediately… stay tuned (soon) for a step-by-step tutorial or article on how to do this for your own site or blog.
In the meantime, this should be a heads up for you to make it a habit to check a blog’s comment for invaluable information. I’ve tried to make it a bit easier for you on Wordpreneur by having links to the recent comments appear on the right margin.
On some heavily commented sites (we’re not quite there yet, but it’d be nice to get there some day), you’ll even want to subscribe to an RSS feed of the site’s comments (not just posts). You can actually do that now with Wordpreneur’s comments; scroll all the way down to the footer for the link.

I have always thought of doing this…I did think it would pay off. But it looks like it does for some people.
